The 2016 Aid Transparency Index uses 39 indicators grouped into weighted categories, to assess how transparent donor organisations are about their aid activities. These categories cover overall commitment to aid transparency and publication of information at both organisation and activity level.
In our methodology, greater emphasis is put on the activity-level indicators, which account for 65%, as transparency can be complete and relevant to all stakeholders only if disaggregated at the development project level.
The Explore the Data tool allows you to change these weightings and see how putting even more emphasis on activity-level indicators, or commitments or at the organisation-level would affect each organisation’s overall score.
