Achievements and progress

• The Netherlands has made significant progress in the 2016 Index graduating into the ‘good’ category for the first time with an overall improvement of 12.8% points relative to 2014.
• The Netherlands has significantly increased the comprehensiveness of its IATI organisation and activity files publishing a further eight indicators.
• The Netherlands now publishes all but ten indicators to the IATI Registry, four of which are always published in other formats.

Challenges and room for improvement

• Though all indicators are published either to the IATI Standard or in non-IATI formats, the Netherlands does not publish a complete organisation file to the Registry.
• At the activity level Memoranda of Understanding, contracts, budget identifiers and conditions are not published in any format.
• The Netherlands does not publish results data and there is further room for improvement on sub-national locations.

RECOMMENDATIONS

• The Netherlands should aim for full implementation of the IATI Standard prioritising the publication of a complete organisation file.
• At the activity level, it should consistently publish more activity- related documents and performance data in the IATI Standard.
• It should continue to promote the access and use of its aid information by others particularly at country level.
