Achievements and progress
  • Denmark has improved its score by 15% points relative to 2014 and has moved up in the ‘good’ category, partially meeting its Busan commitment to make aid fully transparent.
  • It now publishes eight more indicators to the IATI Registry relative to 2014.
  • Denmark is among the top five performers on organisation financial indicators.
Challenges and room for improvement
  • Country strategies are published only sometimes meaning that Denmark does not publish a complete organisation file.
  • Nine activity-level indicators are not published to the IATI Registry. Sub-national locations, budget documents and impact appraisals are sometimes published in other non-IATI formats. Memoranda of Understanding, budget identifiers and conditions are not published at all.

RECOMMENDATIONS

  • Denmark should publish country strategies to IATI in order to have a complete organisation file. It should also improve its activity level publication so it is comprehensive.
  • In particular, it should aim to publish more than objectives for activity related documents to IATI.
  • It should realise the benefits of its transparency efforts and develop a strategy to promote internal and external use of its data particularly at country level.
