DFID displays commitment to aid transparency with release of operational plans
The UK Department for International Development (DFID) released yesterday most of its country operational plans for the next four years. Following a comprehensive bilateral aid review earlier this year, the plans map out how aid will be delivered to each country DFID works in, and the monitoring and evaluation strategy up to 2015.
Each plan also contains a country-specific pledge of aid transparency, as well as a commitment to continue to improve aid transparency mechanisms over time.
International Development Secretary Andrew Mitchell said:
“I am delighted to make these plans public. As part of the UK Aid Transparency Guarantee, we have committed to showing the British public where every penny of their aid money goes and the difference it makes to the lives of poorest people around the world.” (DFID: Action plans set out the future of UK aid)
