Honduras makes aid data public
Honduras made an important step towards greater transparency by launching their aid data platform last week.
The Platform for Aid Management (PGC) will make information on foreign aid programmes and projects implemented in the country readily available and easy accessible to public officials, donors, academia, civil society and the general public.
If all donors providing development assistance to the Government of Honduras were publishing IATI compliant data, the information would be even more useful as it would be current, comprehensive and fed automatically into the PGC. The platform already provides a lot of useful information, including geo-coded data on specific projects by sector, and is available in Spanish and English.
The platform is administered by the Ministry of Development Planning and Foreign Aid (SEPLAN), and was created with the financial support of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Program for Development (UNDP).
