Honduras hosts first LAC dialogue on climate change and aid effectiveness
The Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) conference on Financing for Climate Change and Development Effectiveness opens today in Honduras. The first of its kind in the region, the event aims to ensuring greater efficiency and better use of foreign aid for climate change. It will include representatives from ministries of finance, environment and development from 26 countries.
Governments around the world have been negotiating objectives, policies and strategies to combat climate change for over 20 years. The LAC region recognises it is more important than ever to strengthen coordination, raise a united voice and define common principles ahead of Rio +20.
