Our congratulations go to Engineers Without Borders Canada who on Friday 11 November became the third NGO in the world to publish their aid information to the International Aid Transparency Initiative standard. This impressive development was facilitated by the Open Aid Register, a new initiative which helps NGOs become more transparent, and comes even before their own country government has opened their books.

In their announcement of the move, they state that it is “not only a part of our commitment to making information about our organisation’s activities easier to access, use and understand, it’s also a commitment to growing the global aid transparency movement and demonstrating that organisations of all sizes have a role to play in championing a common international standard for aid transparency.” We totally agree and will be following their lead in the new year when your new financial management system is up and running.
