Second Draft of Busan Outcome Document released
The Second Draft of the Busan Outcome Document now cites the International Aid Transparency Initiative, and the importance of transparency is repeatedly stressed as a foundation for success across the aid effectiveness agenda.
There is acknowledgement that commitments at Busan need to be time-bound, and the speed of implementation addressed – “accelerating efforts where they are ongoing”.
The document also recommends that donors ‘make available the regular and comprehensive rolling three- to five-year forward expenditure’ which is crucial for recipient governments’ potential to plan their budgets more effectively.
We would like to see the commitment to IATI firmed up in the Final Outcome Document.
