MFAN Principal on transparency in the PSD and QDDR
Raymond C. Offenheiser, Principal of the Modernizing Foreign Assistance Network (MFAN) comments on the next U.S. Presidential Study Directive (PSD) and Quadrennial Diplomacy and Development Review (QDDR) in MFAN’s QDDR blog series.
Offenheiser, stating that ‘country ownership’ has been a priority of the Obama administration’s approach to development policy and practice sets out ways for the QDDR and PSD to better transfer information and control to recipients. Central to these is the recommendation to increase aid transparency, stating that the U.S. should be looking to ‘publish comprehensive, accessible, comparable, and timely information that is useful to recipient governments, civil society, and U.S. taxpayer.’ We couldn’t agree more.
