EU Aidwatch Report 2009 monitoring includes a focus on donors’ aid transparency
EU Aidwatch, which is a group of NGOs monitoring aid quality and quantity across the member states LINK (last year’s report) is in the processing of compiling it’s yearly report. Look out for a major section on aid transparency.
The questionnaire on which the report is based covers questions on changes to country’s commitments on aid, the inflation of aid by counting things that are not particularly developmental in their objectives, tying of aid donations to the donor government goods and services, and impact of the financial crisis and aid volumes. This years monitoring includes an analysis of each member states aid transparency and will focus on identifying main problems and what governments are being called upon to do in response.
